*Due to an unfortunate oversight in the scoring calculations, the 1A results originally posted and announced at the event had an error. As such, both Sebastian Brock and Daniel Joranlien receive seeds to the Finals in 1A at the 2014 National Yo-Yo Contest.

I would like to personally apologize to the players for the error in the scoring calculations. The error was operator error, and that operator was me. The system did not operate as I assumed, and due to my assumption that I knew the system, I caused this error. The NYYL has taken what I feel is the appropriate action to correct this matter in the best way possible for everyone concerned . I want to thank the judges of this contest who did a great job. Randy Jensen, Steven Kinder and Brandon Jackson. I would like to make it clear, that the error was in no way caused by them.

I would like to thank all the sponsors of this event, and especially the Visit Tallahassee that gave us the grant for this new venue, and to pay the judges for their services.

-Gregory Cohen.

Location of SER Upgraded

Cascades Park Stage

We've been working on this for months. There is a new park in town with an amazing stage, right in the middle of everything. It is only 5.4 miles from our traditional location behind Lofty Pursuits. Cascades Park will be the venue for this years contest, thanks to the City of Tallahassee, and Visit Tallahassee.

Check out the new venue!

For your GPS the address of the park is:
1001 South Gadsden St - Tallahassee, FL 32301

And the address of Lofty Pursuits is
1415 Timberlane Rd #410, Tallahassee, FL 32312

SER Hotel Rooms

Donna Doggett Byers found this great price for hotel rooms near SER.

"FYI - Anyone going to SER. At the moment, Capital Circle Inn & Suites @ Village Green Way Tallahassee FL is $69 a night on Expedia. If you use the Expedia Mobile App and the code Mobile25, you get $25 off. This makes a two night stay after taxes only $130."

Thanks Donna.

Seeding at SER

Winners of the State Contests under the South East Regional yo-yo contest will be seeded into finals at SER assuming there are enough contestants to require a preliminary round. There will be a preliminary round for 1A, but a decision on the day of the event will be made for the 2A-5A divisions. Seeds should contact us through this site directly to let us know about their status.

If we do seed 2A-5A, you will have to have won that division in your home state, or taken first place in an open division using that style. If your contest used an open division, there will be only one seed, in the style of the first place winner.

Welcoming YoYoExpert and Randy Jensen

We want to welcome YoYoExpert for sponsoring the SE Regional yo-yo contest at the Gold Level, and we want to congratulate Randy Jensen our last judge for the event.
More updates to come soon.

We may have a new venue, just a few miles form where it has been, but a much cooler one. They just have to finish building the darn thing in time :)
